Empowering people to find hope and healing
Hello, my name is Amy, and as a therapist, my goal is to help you move towards the life you desire. I want to support you in finding joy, laughter, and strong relationships, while also helping you navigate through challenges that may arise.
I am mindful of how cultural and social narratives, as well as systems of oppression, can impact individuals in terms of race, sexuality, gender, body size, class, and ability. In therapy, I focus on addressing the ways in which oppression affects people, their relationships, communities, and the world.
I understand the strength and resilience individuals possess in overcoming life's obstacles. My areas of specialization include working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, trauma, gender dysphoria, and other concerns.
My therapeutic approach is influenced by Internal Family System, EMDR, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Couples Therapy and mindfulness-based techniques. I have received training from the Humanitarian Assistance Program (EMDRIA Approved) and am qualified to provide EMDR therapy to adults and children. I am also trained in Internal Family Systems, Level 3 (IFS Institute).
As a therapist utilizing the Internal Family Systems (IFS) model, I am committed to guiding individuals on a transformative journey towards self-discovery and healing. Within the framework of IFS, we explore the intricate dynamics of your inner world, understanding that within you exist a multitude of distinct yet interconnected parts, each with its own thoughts, feelings, and motivations.
I have expertise in various therapy modalities and tailor my approach based on your unique needs and goals, rather than using a one-size-fits-all method.
